Other than feeling a little embarrassed about the memory of a teenage him, none of it affected Katsuki after UA. The crushes never reappeared; the friendships remained strong despite diverging paths. They’ve all been busy with careers to build and adulthood to navigate. There hasn’t been much time for anything to reignite even if Katsuki wanted it to. He hasn’t really had a break in eight goddamn years to even think about any of that shit.

They lost touch ages ago, counting on class reunions and milestone parties to reconnect them. Bakugo doesn’t have many regrets, but sometimes he wonders why their fling never became something more. If he pushed Shoto away or if Shoto drifted away and forgot to drift back. Bakugo wouldn’t mind drifting back.
He just didn’t expect that his opportunity to do it over again would arrive with the news of a kid with mismatched eyes, half a head of white hair, and a temper like a lit fuse. A kid that might be the best of them, was almost definitely the worst of him, and absolutely should not exist.

This scent, his scent, has always been comforting to Shouto. Like a lungful of bravery shot straight to his veins, as he always feels ridden of everything that makes up the ugly thoughts creeping at the back of his head, leaving Shouto barren and carefree.
There were times when the scent got more intense, almost spiky, prickling at Shouto’s skin as if it was trying to get underneath it, pushing and pushing until the Omega let him in willingly. But that’s only in Shouto’s head surely; years of suppressed urges crashing onto him the second he starts working under one of the most desired Alpha in their city.
