Summary
The Shendeleds, once a mighty noble family in Baldur's Gate, were noted for creating various magical-mechanical constructs. Taveron and Cailyn, fraternal twins, were destined for greatness. However, due to their mother's fleeting liaison with an unknown tiefling, the twins were forced to lead separate lives. While Cailyn enjoyed the societal privileges afforded by her elven visage, Taveron was forced to menial roles. Despite this disparity in their lives, it only served to strengthen their bond.
Tragedy struck when a catastrophic fire claimed the Shendeled estate resulting in the death of most of their family and the loss of Cailyn's limbs. Forsaken by their allies, the twins depended on each other for survival in the unforgiving streets of Baldur's Gate.
Driven by desperation, Tav invested their remaining funds in search of new beginnings beyond Baldur's Gate. But he vanishes leaving Cailyn alone for three hard, lonely years. Alone, desperate and believing her only kin to be dead, Cailyn spirals into despair and hopelessness when fate offers her a boon she never expected. A hand from her past, the hand of Lord Bane's Chosen.
