He hadn't realized just had horribly the hero life had been for him. So, he quit. And he had so much more time for it! He took long walks, often with his faithful companion. He no longer felt uncomfortable around Dave, now that he didn't have to measure up against him. He had more time for charity and his kids at the library.
He even stopped smoking.
He was even able open a little coffee shop, just inside of the city. Sterling Coffee was the safest place in town, or so he liked to boast. He welcomed everyone, from heroes to villains, and everyone in between. He'd even made an anti-power device just in case a fight broke out inside.
He glanced over when the bell on the door chimed.
"Sorry, we're closed." He said, mentally kicking himself for forgetting to lock the door.
A haggard teenager in a torn up sidekick suit stumbled in, locking the door behind them. Chad put the glass he was shining down and ran over. He closed the blinds and pulled them to a chair.
"Please..." They mumbled as Chad held a cloth to their bleeding wound. "Help me fake my death."
"Kid, I'm just a barista-" He started.
"You've done it before, Azalea." The kid retorted, using his voice.

Putting this here instead of the note so that people can see it before clicking and decide from here whether this is worth reading-
The main ship here is Tim/Danny (Deadtired/Braindead). All the other ships are entirely background, there will be no clear indication in the fic that it's romantic, so you can take it as platonic if you wish. The most that there will be is one line or reference every couple of chapters that say that the two interacted.Just thought that I should add that here instead of the notes, since I hate when fics tag a ship only for it to not even be relevant
