The world keeps pushing him, demanding, because what he did wasn't enough. Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, but that wasn't enough, wasn't ever enough.
Tony Stark was tired. But he had a planet to protect, even if everyone laughed at him whenever the prospect of alien invasions was brought up. He could count on one hand how many people he could trust, which was disheartening but then, what else was new?

Summary
On a scouting mission in the frozen hinterlands, Miqo'te adventurer/pyromaniac is ambushed and captured by rogue Garlean forces. Unfortunately for her, she is a prime candidate for the evil empire's ongoing human experiments to create a "living battery" powered by aether, and the scientists in charge aren't troubled by pesky concepts such as "ethics" and "physical limits" when it comes to developing her and her body in their quest.
