Summary
When you join Hogwarts, from America, as a new Assistant Professor to help Professor Slughorn teach Potions, you find yourself getting thrown into a mix of drama, fear, love, and new beginnings. Trying to keep an open mind, and most importantly an open heart, you begin to create and foster new relationships and perhaps even garner the respect, and maybe more, of a certain Half-Blood Prince.

“Yes.” He said, sounding inebriated.
Her smile broadened. She put her arms around his neck, one of her hands still stroking his hair.
“You work so hard, don’t you? Come relax for a moment. Perhaps… today… just a little kiss?”This is a derivative piece based on my Muggle Studies fic, also available here in AO3 (link in the notes).
The difference here is that it is a very smutty one-shot (I do envision the possibility of extending it, however) taking place within the arc of the HP main series, at some point between the fourth and the fifth books and it is therefore a little darker, although still sweet.
It is not a reader insert, but the original female character's physical appearance is left open, so you can picture yourself right there.
