Whilst dueling Lord Voldemort in the graveyard, Priori Incantatem occurs and misfires horribly, sending Harry back in time.
Harry wakes up on June 24, 1941, thrown back fifty-four years to the day, and realizes exactly two things: he has absolutely no idea how to get back to his home time, and he cannot mess up the timeline no matter what.
Naturally, nothing goes to plan for Harry.

Summary
Harry’s trial before fifth year doesn’t go as expected. Sure, he isn’t technically expelled, but neither is he allowed to keep his wand or return to Hogwarts. Knowing exactly what Dumbledore’s idea of “keeping Harry safe” entails and refusing to go back to Privet Drive, he takes the first chance he can to enact his genius plan: get money, get Sirius, and get out. To where? Well, he doesn’t get that far.
After visiting Gringotts and learning some unexpected things, he’s back to square one, with no idea what to do now.
The Terror Twins' ingenious plan? Go to Hogwarts anyway! After all, it’s their final year—no one is going to question if there are suddenly three of them.
