Summary
She feels wet anticipation.
Like the liquid neon glow of the lights, it drips against her. Into her.
And.
And, in the next room. A phone is ringing.

Summary
Carla knows, then, with a certainty so sudden it's almost shocking, that this, this thing, didn't start last month. It didn't randomly spark during the early-October evening when they were loose-lipped, half-tipsy with wine, when the blonde had settled cosily on her shoulder like she belonged there.
No, it's been smouldering away in the background, building and building, for a long, long time.
It's been six months in the making.
Or: "Don't get dressed" and everything else.

Summary
"'Ey, Lis', have you moved my- What-" She cuts herself off with a sharp yelp of a laugh as she exits the en suite, towel-clad, hair dripping. "What're you doing?"
"Trying to catch a breeze," Lisa grumbles, eyes closed.
"And here's me thinking I'd walked in on a very serene seduction."
Or: Heat and chills.

Summary
At least half of their bickers are resolved by the need to touch.
To be touched.
It's almost comical, really.
The constant need, the physical need to be close.
Or: Three times Carla and Lisa's bickers are resolved by physical touch.

Summary
She chokes on her own breath. And, humiliated, sinks deeper into her own personal hell.
And it’s certainly too late for any deliverance. Even pretty, blonde salvation.

Summary
This is only supposed to be a two day trip — go to the conference, make agonisingly boring small talk with stuffy men over drinks, maybe find a hot woman to spend the night with, return to the safety of her cold empty flat.
It’s not supposed to be seven days.
—
Chris dooms Jo and Kate to a week of self-isolation in a hotel room together when he tests positive for COVID at a police conference, forcing them to confront the events that have led to their years-long hatred of each other.
All while sharing a bed and trying to deny their attraction to each other, of course.

Summary
Jo closes her eyes as her heart sinks, but she can practically feel the way Kate is trying not to look like she’s eavesdropping through the kitchen door. Jo knows she needs to keep it together and get out from under her gaze.
“No rest for the wicked, I’m afraid. Could we pick this up tomorrow?”
Kate’s still staring at her like she’s trying to pull an old memory out of the space between them, but then it breaks, and her smile returns.
“Of course, just give us a call beforehand to make sure we’re here.”
----
Or the noir-ish re-imagining of season 6 where Kate has set up as a private detective, and DCI Jo Davidson has a mystery for her to solve.

She swipes on her without much regard. Cute face, cute eyes, cute nose. No profession but she’s definitely got one of those important jobs that you don’t just declare on a dating app——
(Kate had done the same)
——and she has a Scottish flag emoji at the bottom of her bio.
Cute accent then.
Doesn’t expect anything of it.
in which, at steve’s insistence, a freshly divorced kate downloads one of the dating apps only to end up falling for someone hundreds of miles away.

Summary
“It seems,” it comes out slurred. “I forgot my keys in the office.”
“Yeah,” Kate says. She cocks her head to the side. “Sure it wasn’t at the pub?”
The woman laughs, that loud sad laugh, “Bad breakup.”
“I know all about those.”
It spills out. Kate leans on the door frame.
“Why are you in my doorway?” The woman asks, frowning in an adorable sort of way.
Kate jerks her thumb to the ground, “Basement. 4B if you ever need a cup of sugar. Or painkillers for that headache you’re going to have in the morning.”
--
in which kate is a moderately successful crime writer who's down on her luck and searching for inspiration and jo is a mysterious neighbour who lives in the penthouse suite of her building. oh, and there's a whole murder case going on but that's not really the point. not yet, at least.

Summary
Jo hates Kate.
Okay, hate is perhaps a little strong, but still — she doesn’t like the way her voice seems to travel across the whole goddamn school, the way her eyes light up when she’s excited (which seems to be rather a lot, actually), the way her legs look in those gym shorts, all firm and toned and—
Yeah, she doesn’t like her. Not one bit.
or, a teacher au that got out of hand and ended up a lot more angsty than planned.

Summary
Set pre-season 6 (just) and then follows the episodes, weaving in and out of canon, following Kate and Jo's relationship.
The break in the Vella case arrives just as Kate and Jo are enjoying drinks together....
I love picking up on little things that we see and build on them... Like the first time we see Jo, why does she arrive at the Hill in a police car? Where was she when she got the call about the break in the case? Had she been drinking and so couldn't drive herself? Why was Farida so jealous of her and Kate? Why does she call Kate a dirty stop-out and why does Kate respond with 'glass houses'? Why does Jo over-pronounce Turner in that meeting?...all things for me to play around with!
Hope you enjoy my little references to the episodes and my added scenes :)

Summary
Here's my attempt to give Flemson fans - and Jo and Kate - the finale and the closure they deserve. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to know what happened in the immediate aftermath of Ryan's shooting, how Kate felt about Jo taking the rap for her, and how she reacted to the revelations about Jo's past. Not to mention what unfolded in the back of that prison van, what the heck was going through Kate's head during that brutal interrogation scene, and how hurt Jo must have been by her apparent ambivalence.
I can't bring myself to believe that they didn't get a chance to say a proper goodbye, or that Kate was pretending all along, so this is how I would have wrapped things up, hopefully in a way that remains true to the characters and their story arc. I've included all the missing scenes we were robbed of and a lot more besides.
I may or may not have made myself cry while writing this fic, so be warned, if I've done my job right, it's a potential tear-jerker. I hope you enjoy it.

Summary
Jo never thought in a million years she would ever see her again. Kate was just a memory that Jo frequently revisited but somehow always ended in her wondering what could have been: the stolen looks, the weight of Kate's hand in her own, how she felt security when her arms wrapped around her, the after work drinks, the way she laughed at her jokes, no matter how bad. But now Kate was at the door of her shop. Staying for a week she said, five days, and it seemed they bumped into each other every day, whether by accident or by planning. With Kate back, Jo can't help but rehash old feelings, one sided feelings, or so she thought.
