The scene would never leave him.
The whimpering sounds of Harry's pleading– begging– as he chanted Sirius’ name, a prayer spoken in pure desire.
The rough echoing timber of Sirius’ voice calling out Harry’s name through a litany of sinful praises and sweet words of love.
They echoed in Remus’ ears like a chorus before reality came down hard upon them.
Remus’ only thought upon seeing the sight before him was a single question: How did I not know?
