Summary
Just when Lord Ashford is about to call an end to the Trial, the doors open and in rides a knight with familiar armour. Aerion really, really wants to choke his cousin. But the voice that rings out is closer to his heart, as is the face that’s revealed when the knight removes his helmet.
“I will take Ser Duncan’s side,” Jace, his twin, declares.
The wood breaks under Aerion’s grip, and Gwin startles, gasping loudly as splinters fly.
Jace looks up, his searing gaze finding Aerion’s equally heated eyes immediately.
