    Tracking down Cacus was easy though. He lived in a cave near the mountains in Montana and she’d easily swiped the staff from him. She should’ve waited for him to leave the cave before taking it. Instead, her impatience got the better of her and she ran into the cave, using her light to blind him before she stole the staff from him. That led to her racing across the dense forest with a fire-breathing giant right on her tail. She could’ve easily cut him down but she had no experience with dealing with this type of monster.

    That only gave her one option: run.

    However, she didn’t know the terrain. If Shannon was there, she’d be able to assist her but Ava was all on her own. Leaping over logs and avoiding the flames spewing from the giant’s mouth, she eventually came to the edge of a cliff, stopping just in time. Peering over the edge, she could tell that the drop was about 50 feet and she couldn’t see any other way to get down.

    Maybe if she climbed down?

    But with her disastrous luck, Cacus wasn’t able to slow down in time. Before she could leap out of the way, he barreled right into her, sending her over the cliff.

    I know, you want to know what happened. First, Ava was dead. And then, she came back. Assumed her role as a leader. Trained countless sister warriors. And then, everything changed again.
    And now? Well, now a part of the OCS wants Ava dead, the other doesn't know how to act, and only a small group of us continues to defend her, even though she herself doesn't seem willing to do the same.

    As for me?

    I still don't know exactly what happened or what were those flashes that Ava showed me when I was unconscious, and due to… unforeseen circumstances, I still haven't had the chance to find out.
    But I know that my destiny and Ava's is to be together. And I won't allow anything or anyone to stand in our way.

    Shadows of Destiny: part II is the direct continuation of the first part of the story and will follow Beatrice and Ava as they face new challenges, enemies, and even old friends.
