Summary
Even when he glances in your direction, it is as though his eyes are focused on something farther away than you can imagine: distant memories of people and a past he does not explain. Part of it is because you are not the kind of person from whom he seeks recognition. Even so, you can't help but smile at him, and hope that will be enough to bring him back.
And sometimes, it is. Sometimes, you feel his dark eyes lingering on your face, soft and sharp in the same glance, and realize that he can see straight through you. His is a gaze perfected through years of suffering, forcibly hollowed, all inclination toward gentleness tempered by a profound sense of caution. Such is the wisdom of the streets.

As the remaining light of day fled the sky and the distant rumble of brontide pierced the damp air, time began to run out for the form. It had been there for days, untouched by anything but nature, and while the LED light in its eyes had managed to remain, now it had begun to flicker. It was a hopeless night, a hopeless storm growing closer, and the glow of the signs’ light reflecting across the puddles was beginning to overpower the form’s own.
He didn’t have much longer at all.
→ Your life takes a bit of a turn when you stumble upon an android in pieces, hidden in an alleyway in an area known for its shadows and debauchery. Taking him home to fix him might have been the best decision you’d ever made, but perhaps there was a little more to the android JK01-97 than you’d initially thought.

Summary
In which you (reader) are forced to take care of seven hybrids in a twist of fate.
After your estranged mother passes away, you're left with an unwanted will and the heavy burden of responsibility. Although you're desperate not to stray from the familiar path you thought was laid out in front of you with a fully human boyfriend who loves you more than anything, your life is thrown upside down once more after another unfortunate incident (that may or may not have to do with said boyfriend) occurs.
Drunk and down on life, you finally decide to deal with the house and the unsavory business your mother left behind. However, to your shock, you find that seven very different hybrids are included with both the house - and the business. Seven hybrids you never even met before - even less agreed to take care of.
Set in the not too distant future where infertility has become mankind's greatest issue. Will contain sexual content.
