Dipper pulls his hand back and it comes away slicked in red. “Fuck, fuck. Dib, you’re bleeding!”
“It’s fine. I just need to get back to the ship—” His words die on his tongue. Movement. Something squirms inside him, crawls upwards an inch through his guts.
He shoves Dipper away from him. Dipper’s wide, scared eyes stare back, full of nothing but worry for him. Dib’s heart tightens in his chest. His throat constricts so he can hardly force words out.
“G-get back to the Runner, okay? Get back to the ship.” Dib shoves his blaster in the boy’s hands.
“I-I don’t understand.”
“Go back to the ship! Engage autopilot back to Earth and get the fuck out of here. Do what I fucking say!”
Before Dipper has a chance to respond, Dib sprints into the jungle.
He doesn’t have much time.
