Dabi looks up. There, directly across from his balcony, in the shadows of the rickety fire escape, a pair of golden eyes, staring right back at him.
He holds his breath, and he holds the gaze, afraid it will be gone if he blinks. But no, he is not hallucinating. It’s Hawks. Standing there, arms and legs crossed, leaning back against the scuffed brick wall, watching him for who knows how long. Completely still.
This is bad. This is dangerous. And yet Dabi’s first coherent thought is that in the darkness of the night, the red of Hawks’ wings looks black.
Or, how Dabi met Hawks in the four suits verse. It was lust at first sight but it took them a while to get in bed together. Or alleyway in this case.

Summary
Dabi stumbles past him, bumping into the wall and turning to him with a strange expression on his face. The door shudders in its frame as it closes behind him. Hawks takes a deep breath- the first one he’s had all day, it feels like- because Dabi is in front of him, unhurt, and there is a clear barrier between the two of them and the others.
Or: Hawks gets hit by a bullet that enhances the neatly buried parts of his animalistic quirk. Dabi is the recipient of his, uh, desire.

It has become their routine. Three times a week, maybe more, Dabi knocks on the balcony window and Hawks is his for a few hours. And if he’s lucky Hawks will grant him a sleepy cuddle after. Until Dabi leaves. Satisfied, elusive, in control.
He never sleeps over, no matter how much he likes Hawks’ fingers carding through his hair, or how pleading Birdie stares after him when he leaves.
That’s why it’s such a surprise when his phone chimes and he sees a message from Hawks.
>Hawks: Go home.(Dabi breaks into Hawks' place for a quick fuck, disregards all warnings, and ends up in a Situation.)

“Hey,” Keigo says as he gets into the driving school's car. He turns to the side to fiddle with the seatbelt, tugging too hard for it to slide out of its holder immediately, urging his mouth to curl up at the corners. “Nice to meet you, I’m–”
“‘Sup birdie,” he hears. The voice is familiar, raspy and deep, and it makes Keigo freeze, immortalizing the smile on his face as his gaze snaps up and-and. “Long time no see.”
(or: keigo says "fuck you" to the hpsc, gets his license, has three breakdowns, and gets a boyfriend. not entirely in that order.)
