At the dawn of the second week, there was a dead stag in front of the entrance. The corpse was a bit mangled, pieces of hide and muscles torn out with sharp teeth, flies crawling all around it, a trail of blood in the grass, leading to somewhere behind the house.
Or: Tommy and Technoblade escape to an abandoned farmhouse and find it less empty than it should’ve been.

Summary
There was something in the fireplace.
It started with humming, a faint melody in the middle of the night, reverberating across the room, seemingly from nowhere and yet, everywhere. Tommy ignored it, blamed it on Phil, on his own lack of sleep, moved on. It was quite pleasant anyway, no need to make a fuss about it.
Today, in the darkness, something was scratching at the stone. Long, jagged sounds from inside of the chimney. Back and forth, back and forth.Or: Tommy gets snowed in while staying at an Airbnb. Christmas Eve approaches.

Summary
Q and Estelle have crossed plenty of boundaries in their capacity as the Quartermaster team, but when it comes to research on the human-daemon link, Q can’t sacrifice ethics for practically. Not quite. (Not yet).
Bond has always felt an overwhelming need to protect the ones he has allowed to matter, a care he extends to his daemon. Of course, Bailey feels quite the same, and their reckless streak leads them to pushing the limits of the human-daemon bond in an attempt to preserve it.
(A Skyfall/His Dark Materials fusion in that this fic takes place after the events of Skyfall, with the sole addition that everyone has a daemon. All Craig!Bond canon applies).
