    Rocky wakes up different.

    The floor is cold. Strange. He is not supposed to be on the floor. It forcefully pushes against his body, and Rocky hypothesizes he's no longer on his bed frame. He is rather sure. He shifts with a mind still fuzzy, something he never thought was possible. It unexpectedly hurts. He feels larger, taller, elongated.

    Cue the horrors of being human.

    Zhao gives the archer one command, "shoot to kill."

    The archer doesn't miss.

    Just like that: Zuko's life becomes pain. Stabbing. Piercing. Carnal and red. Ribbons of it shoot across his face like lightening, radiating from his eye. So, all-consuming he is surely nothing but that pain. It takes everything from him, even his memories.

    OR: The arrow shot at Zuko during "The Blue Spirit" actually hits him and not his mask. Leaving the traitor prince horribly injured with no memories. In his delirium he decides he can trust Aang. Aang sees an opportunity for him and Zuko to become friends. Sokka isn't sure how to feel about any of this. Much less, his growing feelings for the new addition to their party. And Katara can't help but worry... how will Zuko react when he learns the truth?

    When All Might finally defeated All for One at Kamino Ward, the world went quiet. All Might went back to teaching, still offering guidance to his successor and Izuku's classmates, while Katsuki had to reconcile with the guilt of ending All Might's hero career.

    After fighting Izuku at Ground Beta, Aizawa put his foot down and made Katsuki begin therapy. It helped. For a while. But needing help made Katsuki feel weak. And feeling weak wasn't easy for him to swallow. So, he stopped going and let everything simmer inside until he could barely look his friends in the eyes, too scared they could see straight through him.

    Except for one pair of bright green eyes, that shined in Katsuki's direction and made him feel like maybe, just maybe, there was still an outstretched hand.

    All he had to do was take it.

    Katsuki doesn't know how to be a good friend. But he wants to.
