    Eddie placed a hand on his chest and pushed him away. Not harshly. Just enough to create some space between them.

    “Buck,” Eddie breathed, looking at him with wide, confused eyes. “What- what are you- uh… this isn’t-“

    And suddenly, Buck was back in reality. His brain started working again and he realized that he had kissed Eddie. He kissed his best friend of eight years. He’d actually done that. His straight best friend.

    “Eddie,” he stepped back and felt a flush on his neck. “I-“ he felt his heart pounding in his chest like it was ready to explode. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking.” He walked back again, feeling like the air was too thick to breathe.

    Theo is going to live with his grandparents permanently. Buck doesn’t want to admit it but it leaves a hole in his heart.
