Summary
Belle and Wise have long since clung to one another, even before the Fall of the Old Capitol, when they were mere children and their love was purely familial. But following the Fall and the disappearance of their teacher and sole parental figure, the two clung to one another more and more, becoming the eyes of one and the legs of the other.
This is all to say that, perhaps, through the lens of hindsight, what eventually turned into passionate throes of unabashed lust for one another REALLY ought to have been expected. And as time comes and passes (not unlike the two of them), they are faced with the hardships of such a strange relationship being their first, and the hardship of keeping such a taboo relationship a secret from even their closest friends.
Especially their closest friends.

Summary
With their (somewhat forced) break over the new year, Jane Doe and Seth Lowell return to duty in full and pick up where they left off as officers of the Special Response Team, meanwhile Zhu Yuan has been looking into follow-ups on the Genesis Incident, only to be met with some very bad news.
Unbeknownst to the team of Public Security officers, Belle and Wise have been spending their time over the new year, excluding that of Belle and Lighter's time together, investigating the Genesis Incident themselves. With various contacts pointing towards the Outer Ring, it isn't before long until Belle receives word of an informant willing to hand over information about the dismantled terrorist organisation and potentially even more.
Little does anyone in or out of Blazewood know that, in the land's background, a war has been brewing.

Summary
[SPOILER WARNING: 'Signal' & 'Losstime']
Following a hectic and celebratory night, Zhu Yuan arrives late to the studio to find Belle, Wise, Astra, and a hungover Evelyn. Be it from the amount of frantic scriptwriting throughout the previous days, or, more likely, the amount of alcohol still passing through her system, Evelyn is left the sole person without much of a clue as to what was even in the previous scripts, be it of the already released 'Signal' or the then yet released 'Losstime', two movies detailing their time through an early chapter in the chaotic year that was last's. Understanding this, Zhu Yuan seizes the opportunity to give a still somewhat entertaining recap, aided by Astra, and helped in few ways by the siblings bickering over the script for Losstime.

Summary
After finishing a commission in the Outer Ring with Wise, Belle finds herself walking back from the van only to see the Sons of Calydon's upper ranks lounging about atop Blazewood's cliff face. More specifically, she sees a girl - a town local - give Lighter a love-letter before running off, and overheard the gang questioning as to why he never accepted a date or opted for relationships.
Once she got Lighter alone, Belle finds out the real reason he never took people up on the dates: Lighter, due to those he was raised and lived around, didn't know how such a relationship would work, especially in regards to dating. So, admittedly for self-indulgent reasons, the long-time crushing Belle decides to take Lighter out on 'pretend-dates' for 'research purposes'. Lighter, of course, agrees!
But, as Belle later finds, such a reason may not have been the entire story.

Summary
With the serial killer known only as the Defector thrown into the mix among a blurry past, its truth known only by a scant few, an unlikely and informal alliance begins to form between jurisdictions. But such a chapter in the massive city's history is merely the beginning. A terrorist attack later starts a descent into an unravelling mystery made unknown by the public, but to those whom are aware, the growing series of violent attacks could prove to become something far more heinous than they already appear.
These seemingly unrelated incidents slowly grow threads between them, with only its victims to piece together the puzzle left in the larger conspiracy's wake. Association comes to mean assassination, and Captain Zhu Yuan finds out late that such attacks are meant for furthering a far more detrimental plot. All the while, as Criminal Investigations (with the help of Phaethon) tries to uncover the culprits and their identities, said culprits continue in their unknown efforts towards an equally unknown goal, and one that is fatal to discover.
