Kokichi stared at Shuichi, wishing he could find the courage to tell him everything he’d been feeling. Oh, wait—he already had. Not that Shuichi ever took any of his flirtations seriously.
Okay, fine, maybe that was a lie. So what? He’d never actually told Shuichi how he felt with any sincerity. But why should he? Shuichi was obviously smitten with Kaede, and with his best buddy Kaito urging him to confess his feelings to her, it was only a matter of time before they got together, riiiggght? So why did it still hurt to imagine Shuichi with someone else? He had more important things to think about… didn’t he?
Meanwhile, Shuichi, with Kaito’s encouragement, decides to confess his feelings to Kaede. But… it doesn’t go the way he was expecting. With everything that’s happened and the constant fighting between his friends, Shuichi is exhausted. He’d rather hide away in the library than confront the chaos of their fractured reality—or everything he did to destroy Danganronpa.
Kaito, determined to bring everyone together, decides to take a chance on Kokichi: reminding himself of the times when they had worked together and everyone deserves a chance at happiness.

Summary
It’s spooky season, so scary stories, Halloween houses, and pumpkin picking are on everyone's minds. That is, everyone except Shuichi Sahara, Kokichi Ouma, Kaito Momota, Maki Harukawa, and Tenko Chabashira. They are left puzzled as everyone around them slowly forgets everything that happened to them inside the killing game; as none of them are able to recall their friends or family before Danganronpa. They begin to question why, their concerns met simply to be patient.
To quell his growing boredom as he waits, Kokichi offers a bet with Shuichi: that he could get Kaito and Maki to kiss each other before the class departs at the end of the week. Shuichi finds himself with Kokichi far more often, thinking the other boy was around just to win the bet. But, perhaps…there was another reason.
Perhaps he was afraid, just like the rest of them.
And not just because it was Halloween.
