Honestly, if he thinks about it, Bucky kind of does want to know what’s in the void. Especially if the void has like, five fucking minutes of peace and quiet. Not to mention Yelena’s wit is just about the only thing this odd group has going for them. She’s whip-smart, and kind, and self-sacrificing, and if Bucky thinks too long about that combination and what city they’re in he’s going to put his fist through Walker’s ugly-ass shield.
When Bucky opens his eyes, Ava and Walker are staring at him like he knows what to do. Why am I in charge? He throws up his hands. “Fine,” he mutters, feeling for the knives at his back. Surely the void won't evoke any life-changing emotions. Right?
