It was just any simple day in the Vanilla Kingdom. When wasn't it?
Pure Vanilla was happily content with living day by day alongside his partner, Shadow Milk. Each morning was filled with cuddling and shared breakfasts, afternoons of the Master of Deceit resting as a snake upon the Wielder of Truth's shoulders. Evenings especially were filled with conversation about their day, dinner, and holding each other as they both retired to bed.
Except, recently… Well, for the past month or two, Shadow Milk had been strange as of late.

Shadow Milk is hiding something from Pure Vanilla. His healer instincts kick in and they chat.

Summary
Pure Vanilla learned many things about Shadow Milk after they moved in together.
He was good about keeping the toilet seat down, for one. He liked anything with oats and blueberries, was able to be polite when he needed to (requirements: have one of the ex-guardians of the Silver Tree within 10 miles), loved performing in town and was well versed in multiple sign languages. He could also read braille fluently, but Pure Vanilla wasn't sure if that was his own talent, or what he'd gleamed from merging souljams.
Pure Vanilla also learned, a lot later than he'd expected, that the Beast was prone to... Spells, of sorts.

How long can a lie remain a lie before it becomes a justification to linger? For how long can one lie about motivations before the lie becomes their truth?
Shadow Milk Cookie makes good on his threat that Pure Vanilla Cookie's kindness will be his undoing. He arrives in the Vanilla kingdom asking for help, lying that his followers have turned on him and his magic is gone. This lie wraps him up in itself until he is completely enmeshed, unable to tell where the lie ends, and where his true motivations begin. That lie becomes an excuse to linger.
