Dave is not okay and Dirk can't deal with it alone anymore. When Dave was little and Dirk was trying to convince him something new was harmless he'd have to do it first so, fine, if he has to go to therapy first to prove that it's fine then he'll do that. It's not like there's anything amiss with him, is there? Set between chapters 13 and 14 of M.C. Escher that's my favourite MC.
