Summary
In Vegas, after the MLH awards, Shane asks to go bare and Ilya goes along with it. Afterwards, Shane, who had realized how he felt about Ilya during those 6 months of radio silence, tries to tell Ilya. Ilya, scared and caught off guard, breaks Shane's heart and tells him to leave.
A month later, Shane finds out he's pregnant. He decides to keep it. He tells the Voyageurs. It goes how you'd expect. They drop him. But he has his baby. While he focuses on keeping his body healthy for the baby, Yuna focuses on finding a team that will take him and give him what he wants for the end of the pregnancy. Only one team will - The Boston Bears.
Things are looking up for Shane. Until he loses everything...again. His world falls apart in the span of a few hours. Again. His mind can't take it and he breaks.
Almost 2 years after Ilya broke Shane's heart, Shane starts a new season as a newly minted Boston Bear. Will he be able to play with the man that broke his heart and act like nothing happened? Will Ilya?

Ilya Rozanov no longer existed.
After he presented as an Omega seven years ago, his fate was sealed and he spent the intervening years learning his place.
He never expected to end up in an Omega shelter in Ottawa, being placed with a sponsor to help him gain his Canadian asylum citizenship due to his designation.
He *certainly* never expected to be placed with the Alpha who he'd played against all those years ago, the Alpha with the soft doe eyes and the beautiful freckles.

Summary
He never pictured himself in colours other than red and blue. For the last 12 years, give or take, he only imagined playing in the Voyageurs’ colours. His jersey was supposed to retire there and hang in the rafters next to the greatest players. But now, seeing his name and number on the back of the black and red jersey again, it feels like this is how it was always meant to be. He was always meant to get here; to be married to and playing on the same team as the man sitting beside him. He was always meant to find his place here, playing for his hometown, next to Ilya.
Or: Ilya and Shane are finally able to stop hiding their relationship from the world. The Centaurs have welcomed Shane into their team with open arms, and they're showing the world exactly who Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are.

Summary

Their rivalry fizzles out before it ever has the chance to fully ignite, replaced instead by a beloved “bromance". In 2015, they come out to the NHL and the world.
No one believes them.
Or: Somehow, despite Shane and Ilya being out for two years, Scott Hunter is still considered the first openly gay player in the NHL, much to Ilya’s horror.
