The Evil Eye had never had anyone to connect with. He had been lost, abandoned, and betrayed by the humans he once trusted. He had been hurt, rejected, and left to become something twisted. And though she was terrified, though every instinct screamed at her to pull away, she couldn’t help but feel a flicker of understanding deep inside her.

“You…” she whispered, her voice soft, though it trembled. “You don’t have to be alone.”
Her words were gentle, and though fear still clung to her, she spoke with as much calm as she could muster. She had to try—she had to reach him, somehow.
“You’re not alone,” she repeated, her voice steadying as she kept her gaze locked on his. She didn’t fight against his grip, didn’t pull away.
He faltered, his brows knitting together as confusion flickered in his eyes. His grip on her arm loosened ever so slightly, the tension in the air shifting. This was her chance.

While they initially gloss over the charming, yet unassuming stripper who goes by the name of Eden, their chase keeps leading them back to her. After running into her time and time again, the Slayers wonder if she is more involved with their rival gang than they thought.
