“Yes…” Elphaba starts. “Roses in general communicate romance and passion, although they’re also used to signify appreciation and sincerity. A red rose signifies eternal love and passion. A thornless one signifies love at first sight.”
Galinda nods, restlessness overtaking her. She’s unsure why her face keeps on getting hotter. They’re talking about something as simple as flowers!

She can pretend she never heard her admission, they can ride out the storm and then go back to being people who flirt harmlessly with each other. Glinda’s giving her the option to ignore it all.
