Summary

FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF ANOMALY INVESTIGATION
EXPEDITION 13, led by USDAI psychologist Lydia Martin with team members Mieczysław “Stiles” Stilinski (cellular biologist), Scott McCall (emergency medical technician), Jackson Whittemore (geologist; ex-United States Marine), and Kira Yukimura (physicist), has entered “The Preserve,” previously known as Cedar Hearth National Park on the Pacific coast of the United States. The national park had been evacuated after being overtaken by an anomalous and inhuman force.
They are in search of answers for what happened to EXPEDITION 12, a team of Green Berets led by Stilinski’s husband Derek Hale.
Hale had returned unexpectedly, showing up in their house with no memory of how he left The Preserve. His subordinates Isaac Lahey, Vernon Boyd, and Erica Reyes have been declared missing by the USDAI.

“All good?” asked his Dad, a backpack slung over his shoulder like he was about to run off into the woods and go camping rather than drive his son to college. Then again, Derek had always looked like he’d rather be in the woods than in long car rides. Eli couldn’t imagine why.
“In the hood,” Eli responded without a second thought. He shot his Dad a grin and two thumbs up. Eli could smell the older wolf was anxious – after all, his only son was going to college, leaving him alone with his crazy husband. Anyone would be nervous about that.

Summary
Stiles joined the Emissary program to help Alpha wolves settle into their new roles and to follow in his mother’s footsteps. She had always told him he was destined to run with the wolves, but he thought she meant Scott and his pack.
