Summary
Things worked out just as Dumbledore planned... then magic decided to make a few adjustments. For Harry, it was more than a bit of a shock to go from a battered 150 yr old body to his newly adult status 14 yr old body. He hadn't even had a chance to finish his morning tea! But then with his luck it wasn't all that much of a surprise. Finding out that he had a chance to do it right this time was something he planned to take full advantage of. Hopefully, he wouldn't have to kill ol' Tommy boy again but he wasn't counting on that.

After Molly Weasley reports shocking abuse on the part of Petunia and Vernon Dursley, Albus Dumbledore makes an official decision to Turn A Blind Eye. After all, the Dursleys *are* the key to Harry's Blood Wards. Though McGonagall is appalled, she is ultimately unwilling to take a stand against Albus.
Enraged at this dual neglect, Severus Snape decides to take matters into his own hands. Little does he know that his attempts to modify Harry's Blood Wards will result in *accidentally adopting* The Boy Who Lived. Shocked and horrified, Severus is left with no choice but to move forward as best he can. After all, there's no use crying over spilled potions. . .
This fic is set just after the Weasley siblings rescue Harry from the barred window/canned soup/cat flap situation in Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets. It is broadly inspired by many of my favorite Snape/Harry Adoption Fics, which I have gathered into the collection Snape_Harry_FoundFamily. Thanks, all y'all, for creating such delightful fics.
