Shigaraki tensed, only bothering to glance at Dabi out of the corner of his eye to let his discomfort be known. Neither of them said anything—Shigaraki at a loss for words and Dabi fully committing himself to what he had asked. Perhaps it was the way he asked rather than the question itself. A lilt in his voice, quickly as if rehearsed. It raised a flag, maybe even two, all of them red and none of them worth writing off as social awkwardness or the ramblings of someone who's had too much to drink.
