Her armour is ready, meticulously arranged on a nearby stand, and the sight of it, red and so dragon-like, makes Rhaenys’ lips curl into a sad smile involuntarily.
The heavy doors creaks as someone pushes them open, the person’s presence commanding in the dimly lit chamber. At that, Rhaenys turns towards the sound, and her expression change to a mix of surprise and slight irritation. The maids freeze in their tasks, their eyes darting nervously between their lady and the imposing figure of her husband, Lord Corlys Velaryon.
“Leave us,” the man’s voice echoes against the stone, firm yet not unkind.
