He thought about it. She waited patiently at the threshold of the door. Finally, Alastor just shrugged. “Sometimes, you don’t have to believe in the idea, darling.” He leaned forward until his face was mere inches from her own. From this close, he saw the little freckles that dotted her nose. “You just have to believe in the person,” Alastor said in a low whisper. Loud enough for her ears only.
-Alastor's ratings are taking a dive in numbers and he needs to figure out a way to get back on top. His show producer, Rosie, has the idea to bring on a local, ambitious young woman who is trying to start her own rehabilitation program for the city. The young woman who also happens to be Charlie Morningstar, daughter of New Orleans's most talked about politician. Alastor doesn't believe that Charlie's project will really work, but if he gets his ratings up, isn't that what's important? What he didn't factor, of course, was the chokehold that the young woman would have on him.-

New Orleans, Louisiana, 1933.Alastor, the “Radio Demon,” was the most famous and charismatic radio host in the city — a true local celebrity. Or at least, that’s how most of his fellow citizens knew him.
Not many knew that his carefully crafted public persona and flawless smile were nothing more than a facade to conceal the man's true vocation: his prolific career as a serial killer.
But with time, he began to grow weary of his double life, both his work and “pastimes” becoming mundane, pushing him to seek a new form of entertainment.
And he found it, in the form of a young girl with a gentle smile, pale skin, and golden hair.
But for how long could this new obsession entertain him?

It was almost as though something there was calling her. Beckoning. Her father had always warned her that this habit of hers would cause nothing but trouble. You’re going to get yourself into trouble, Charlie. Stop sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong.
She never listened, of course.
This was nothing more than scientific curiosity. At least, that’s what she told herself as she pushed away her doubts. This wasn’t some demon’s thrall. It wasn’t.
So, she waited until the dead of night, until the convent was quiet and still. Once Vaggie was fast asleep, she ventured out. It would only be for a while. She’d go to the castle, confirm that nothing was there, and then reassure the rest of the girls that the demon of the falling castle was nothing but a myth.
How wrong she’d been.

During Alastor's fight with the loan sharks, one of the sharks lobs a flask of mysterious liquid at him. At first, it seems to do nothing. However, the following morning, a mysterious cursed cat appears in the Hazbin Hotel.
As the only one who can touch it without getting their arms bitten off, it's up to Charlie to figure out what happened and get her hotel back to Hell's version of normal.
