Summary
Luz Noceda had predicted that her summer would be ultimately uneventful. She would go to Reality Check Summer Camp, leave her "childish fantasies" behind, and she could begin life as a more mature person. But the only thing ever predictable about life is its unpredictability. When Luz gets unexpectedly knocked out, she wakes up in the long since abandoned Playtime Co. toy factory. Finding herself lacking in direction or supplies beyond a vague letter stashed in her pocket, she presses forward in the hopes of finding people still there and, by extension, a way out. But as her search continues, she finds the true horrors that lie beneath the factory's joyful appearance, as well as the pain and suffering that lies beneath those horrors.
