For a moment, she lays very still - her sleep-dried eyes blink lazily up at the all-too-familiar ceiling above her head, watching blankly as a dull muted light casts soft shadows that stretch from the window all the way to the ceiling fan in the center of the room. She inhales deeply, so deeply that she feels a faint pop between her shoulder blades, and her eyes flutter shut again.
Seconds later, the stillness of the morning is pierced by an all-too-familiar alarm, and when her eyes fly open, they fly open on the wings of a powerful surge of excitement and adrenaline.

Rosa looks genuinely confused now. “No, we went to the bar last night. You got super drunk. Started crying because you lost your napkin. It was hilarious. Did you completely black out or something?”
Amy can barely hear the end of Rosa’s question over the blood suddenly pounding through her ears. Adrenaline and nausea and something else, some odd cross between dread and excitement fills the pit of her belly and explodes through her veins all at once -
She’s reliving March 28th.
Which means she now officially has feelings for her soulmate.

He slips the cat another fish. The cat gazes up at him, a wide-eyed look of devotion; he looks awed, as if he’s never been shown such kindness as two little fish all to himself. Taking a step forward he butts his head against Geralt’s knee, nuzzling at it, eyes falling closed.
Geralt finds a cat which is strangely unafraid of witchers, and adopts it; or rather, the cat adopts him.

Geralt remembered a fight, years before, when his leg had been broken. The bone had broken in two places; his knee had shattered. The pain had lasted for days. That had been nine – ten years ago. The bard had been a child then. A tiny child, unable to walk, unable to think from pain. Because of him. It was hard to breathe. When he thought about it too much, it got hard to breathe.
Jaskier has always known he has a soulmate; a soulmate who is in pain a frankly concerning amount of the time. Geralt isn't sure if he believes that old superstition that witchers have no soulmates, but he knows he isn't bonded to anyone. He is alone, and he likes it that way.
Or, soulmates feel each other's pain and Jaskier is not having a good time.
