"Do you not like me?" Logan asks-- he doesn't mean for his voice to shake and crack, but it does. He isn't sure why that's the first thing out of his mouth. He feels cold and exposed.
Virgil's grip tighten on his knees. "That's not it," Virgil says, leaning forward, "God. I..." He hesitates. "Of course, I like you. I want you, but you're-- you're basically my brother--"
"Not technically," Logan replies, trying to keep his tone even. "We don't have to tell mom." He doesn't know when they started referring to Logan's mom as their mom, but it doesn't make the argument against "not brothers" any better.
"Well, obviously... but, like, I," Virgil makes a noise, shrugging his shoulders, "we can't tell anyone. All my friends know you as my brother. Like... literally. You know how many times Remus has asked if my 'annoying little brother' was home?"
Logan isn't sure what to say. "Please?" He murmurs. Its barely audible.
...alternatively, logan and virgil are childhood friends who were raised together and have very, very conflicting feelings about it.

Summary
Virgil Ashbourne and Logan Axford are as close as two people could be. With the death of Edith Ashbourne, Virgil's mother and Logan's mother's best friend, Giovanna basically adopts him into the Axford family.
The two boys are often mistaken for brothers, and while it's something they'd attempted to correct when they were younger, it's now accepted with open arms— Virgil IS a part of Logan's family, especially with his father travelling for work, leaving Virgil living with them. It's a small, but happy, mistake they let slide.
And when feelings, that have been building ever since they were in diapers, grow a little too big for their hearts and they start making out everytime Giovanna leaves for work, it leaves a difficult predicament: they're not ACTUALLY related, it's fine, but how do you tell every single person in your life that your brother isn't actually your brother, you guys just live together and let people mistake you two for siblings, but you also still call one another brother during sex because it makes you both wet and feverish.
... maybe they should leave that last part out.
