Two years. Two years since Mari left for college and never went back to Faraway town. Her college life is awesome, her friends are great and she can’t be happier with how things turned out. That is until she’s informed that her family will be moving away from her childhood town.
Dad is away with work and mom readies their new house, which leaves Sunny home alone and in need of a helping hand. At mom's plea, she drives back to visit Faraway Town one last time, despite not being so happy about it.
At least it was for three days only. Nothing bad should happen in such a short time.

A probably OOC what-if for if Ivan didn’t go through with taking his life at the end of scene 16. Happier than canon, but not intended to be without strife for these characters. Written because I prefer endings where there’s hope for the character to improve, even if in canon they probably aren’t willing to face such change.

Winter of 2020. Nestled within some off-shore island in the west coast of the United States of America, more games take place.
Nine years ago, Mari fell down the stairs. She didn't die this time. Basil still panicked, Sunny still lied. As the words “comatose” and “uncertain prognosis” sunk into reality, the friend group broke apart just like before, only in different ways and for different reasons. A crack in the course of their picture-perfect lives, one that splintered and grew over the years, never fixed.
Medical bills, student loans, gambling mistakes, bad addictions and family debt.
So many ways a life could crumble.
