This wasn’t supposed to happen. Tomoe was his roommate. The girl who always brought him his favourite snacks, nagged him about laundry and stealing her shampoo, and looked at him like he wasn’t just some loser, but someone worth caring for, like she always, stubbornly insisted on doing.
That last part was probably the problem.
It wasn’t like he wanted anything….Well, that wasn’t true. But wanting things was how you lost them. He just... He liked knowing she was here to stay. Liked the way the place felt fuller when she laughed at his dumb jokes; insisted on getting him home from the bar if she didn't come with him, because she 'didn't want to find him in a ditch somewhere'. Those were normal things to like. Right?
