Summary
Tommy was living the worst weeks of his life. First, he found out he's a necromancer, something that is very, very illegal and will probably get him killed. Second he got caught by hunters and captured. Now he's been sold to some cult so he can raise their "Blood God" from the dead.
The only real upside to all of this is that their Blood God might be just as lost and confused as Tommy is. Oh, also, he's very much not a god, but nobody's told the cult this.

This Dark does not seem to consume Derek. There is nothing to consume. There is he, and there is the Dark, and there doesn’t seem to be an identifiable difference between the two, for he and the Dark are one.
Maybe they always have been.

Does that mean… is Derek gone? Like gone, gone? Surely his body is still out there, maybe just without his mind. Close enough to Avery, most likely. If he could just track him down…

Now you and I will watch what comes next, but I cannot join you in your discoveries. We both have our restraints, I suppose. We are not meant to know one another.
So, then, isn’t it even more beautiful that these two were able to not only know me, but one another within me, and everything else beyond, as well?
