Summary
During the chaos surrounding the infinity gems, a variant of Loki got his hands on the Time Gem and the Tesseract. Thinking this was his ticket to fix everything, he cobbles together a package of hints and ciphers as quickly as he can before the attempt drives him insane and blasts it backward in time. Unfortunately, he was hardly in a fit condition to use such powerful magic properly. Certain his efforts were for naught, he never speaks of his actions.
In another universe, a depressed and drunk Adolescent Loki receives a strange package and resolves to set his life on a new path.
Time travel isn't impossible even if you don't have the Time Gem, but using it to change anything more than a few days past is widely considered the most effective way to go insane or ruin your life. So when Loki receives a package apparently from his future self he is understandably concerned. The Wheel of Time continues to turn, and whatever happens in this iteration of the universe, Loki will not ignore this herald of dangers to come.

World War II is kicking into high gear on Midgard. The people of Asgard could not possibly care less what the Midgardians are doing. Then some bleeding heart decides to make them care.
Canonical to Love & Thunder's idea that all pantheons exist, but the elder Gods are off on retirement having fun and only young Gods like Thor and Loki can be bothered to remember that mortals exist.

Leonard opts to take the transporter from the Enterprise down to San Francisco, even though there's a major electrical storm.
When he gets there, there's no rain at all, and also it's thirty-two years earlier. He's recovering from a panic attack in the library bathroom when there's a knock on the door.

At least there's a Christopher Pike in this universe. Apparently he's best friends with George Kirk. Apparently, something about Leonard makes him attract blue-eyed blonds, even though he's still heartbroken over Jim.

He fights like a boy possessed. Maybe he is, maybe all the ghosts of Kodos' victims rise up inside him, Desmia and Kit and Tam and so many others. But probably not.
