Everyone has an ulterior motive, wether their intentions are good or bad. And on top of that, nobody is ever around forever. Everyone leaves eventually. Now Rebel doesn't mean to be depressing or anything. She's just stating facts. For her, it's better to survive the painful truth, than live the beautiful lie.
