Gojo Satoru thought he'd be forgotten eventually if death decides to take him.
That's how the life of a sorcerer was supposed to work. No one would know when they would die or when they would last spend their time with their loved ones. People will grieve, they will heal, and they will continue living. He knows his students would cry, curse him for leaving, then grow into the sorcerers he always believed they could become.
The moment Satoru gets sealed, he expected darkness and pile of bones await him on the other side. Instead of such things, he found himself in a place he could recognize and at the same time, couldn't.
Everything changed, and everyone is gone.
Everyone except Itadori Yuuji, who is still alive, still young and wore unbearable grief like second skin, and still carrying the weight of a world Satoru had sworn his students would never have to bear alone.

Like, from the moment he could comprehend the reality around him, and the funny thing about ghosts is that they tend to try and use him somehow. His body, that is. So, learning from his own mistakes, he doesn't reveal his ability to anyone, dead or alive. But after becoming Sukuna's vessel, there is this beautiful male ghost with long black hair haunting Gojou-sensei, and Yuuji wonders what their relationship is, where the ghost disappears all the time, and... Why does he claim to still have a body? Isn't he supposed to be dead?!
Or: I gave Yuuji the ability to see ghosts so he could befriend Suguru and help him gain his body back. Hm? I did that because I like this trope? Of course not!

Summary
Alphys creates a machine that can display a monsters memories and invites Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Toriel, and Frisk to help test it out. Sans is suspicious but agrees to help. His suspicions turn out to be well founded when something goes wrong and they have no way to stop the test. To make matters worse the one person who didn't want his memories shown is having them played like a movie. Now the group is forced watching Sans' most important memories to the end but maybe it could be fate. Sans has been secretive far too long or are somethings better left forgotten.
