Eight years ago, Tony Stark lay dying on the Afghan sand, the shrapnel of his own bombs having pierced his very heart, betrayed by his beloved godfather and left to die. But the one that caught his eye and made him stop, was a shade of highlighter blue so bright that it almost hurt his eyes to look at. He did though, too wrapped up in taking careful note of the dark text, stark against the obscenely brilliant paper, advertising his name.

And under that, in a delicate scrawl of purple crayon, the following sentence:
“It’s all I have in my piggy bank right now. But we can do an IOU if you need more.”
or; it’s been three years since Peter asked Strange to complete the spell that would erase him from everyone’s memory. Three years without anyone knowing him. Three years, all alone. All alone, that is, until he finds the poster advertising a reward for anyone with information on Peter Parker, with a note clearly written by a child.
alternatively; Doctor Strange erased everyone’s memories. Everyone’s, it seems, except for Morgan Stark’s.

Summary
Tony was illprepared to find that the vigilante he'd recruited was a 14 year old boy. He was even less prepared for Peter Parker to be mute. But Peter hasn't spoken since his uncle died. And the more Tony works with the teen, the less it matters to him. He hears Peter just fine.
