Ryland Grace is having the time of his life. He's in the past somehow, and he's going to make it count. And hug Stratt. A lot. She needs it. (So does he, but he doesn't want to admit it.)

Grace’s discomfort with Dr. Devon Hale was a slow, creeping thing. Because on the surface, she was a perfectly nice woman. She worked under Dr. Lamai on the coma bed technology, was tall and imposing with long brown hair and a symmetrical face that others categorized as “pretty”—which Grace only knew because he'd overheard some lab techs comment on it one day. He never had the eye for that kind of thing.
