Summary
“—his vitals are stable. BP…” Mohan trails off, staring at the screen behind him.
“What?” Dennis asks, glancing at the monitor. His blood pressure looks fine, a bit elevated but understandable from the tail end of adrenaline following his fall. And other than that, he’s… Oh. He frowns at his BPM of 114. That’s… unusually high for him.
Mohan looks back at Robby. “I swear his BP has been in the normal range with his pulse at eighty-five during most of my assessment.”
“Order a CT,” Robby says.
“I don’t need…”
He trails off when he gives Whitaker a stern look that makes his stomach flip. Yessir.
He risks a glance at his monitor, seeing the number rise again, and oh. Oh. Oh no.

Summary
Dennis takes a deep breath in to calm himself, but as he breathes out, he confesses, “Trinity made a bet with Samira that I could get anyone in the bar to buy me a drink because I kind of have a knack for it, but Samira chose you, and now they’re watching us, and I’m so sorry.”
His boss blinks at him a couple of times, probably figuring out the least problematic way to fire him or berate him for being so damn unprofessional. He should’ve just said no to Trinity and Samira and killed the vibes for the night; he’d prefer that to whatever Robby is about to say. He can already see the anger bubbling up inside him that’s going to—
“I’ll buy you a drink.”
Dennis stares at him, unblinking. After a few seconds, he manages to ask, “What?”
“I’ll buy you a drink,” Robby repeats, then leans over to pat the bar stool next to him. “But you’re going to have to earn it.”

Summary
It became a bit of a routine, checking in on Dennis. He liked watching him shed his doctor persona at the door and become a normal human for a bit. He liked seeing if he had friends over, what he ate for dinner, if he watched any TV.
However, he was getting a little…worried. Dennis started coming back later and later. He started sleeping on the couch, too exhausted to drag himself to bed. Robby kept hearing phone calls that went like, "Yeah, I can cover your shift tomorrow. I mean, I am a little busy, but I'll figure it out. No, don't worry."
God, if Robby didn't feel protective over the boy before, he sure did now.
One night, he watched Dennis come home, stare at the wall, silently eat half a pack of crackers, stare more, and pass out on the couch. All without changing out of his scrubs.
So, that was the night that he texted Jack.
