Summary
Staying in the Final Night Cemetery thus comes easy. To honour fallen soldiers who braved the Wild Hunt, who caressed the ritualistic carvings in your tombstone with bloodstained fingers – who you surmise must have been hypothesising her own tombstone after her then-imminent death – the forebears of the Lightkeepers, and other humans related to them by family. To join the Lightkeepers was not a choice that required much contemplation.
The question is: why are you a miniscule blue ball of flame atop your gravestone? Surely, you have reports to write, Wild Hunt outbreaks to vanquish, gems to purchase, a dog to feed-

Jean knocks on the door. It feels a little strange to do so, when it has been her office for the past years but her manners won't allow her to just storm in without notice. But she does not wait for an answer (she's fast but Varka is faster, if he decides to run) and pushes the door open.
There’s a chance that Varka isn't even there anymore.“Grandmaster, these documents all need your… signature…?”
She falters mid sentence. The office isn't empty.
That's good, that's more than she expected. But what stills her in her steps isn't Varka's presence - it is the fact that he is not alone.
