Summary
Laurance doesn't hear from Garroth for a while during his camping trip and he starts to get worried..... then after weeks of no word he sees a story on the news that shatters him completely. Aphmau, Garroth, Aaron, Lucinda-EVERYONE who had left for that trip not only lied to him, but became fugitives... and they were KILLED!
In his grief, Laurance continues to text Garroth as he had before to cope, struggling to come to terms with the fact that most of his closest friends were DEAD!
Except...... They weren't dead.
None of them were. And Laurance feels immense relief not only that they were alive, but also that he hadn't confessed his romantic feelings for Garroth like he'd considered the night before......But should he be glad for that?or
A two-part text fic from Laurance's POV about his panic and grief when Garroth and the rest of his friends go radio silent, and then seeing the fabricated news story that was intended to ensure the safety of the Starlight gang + a second chapter about what could have been, if Garroth’s response to Laurance had waited just a few more hours.

Summary
There were multiple reasons Garroth wasn’t a fan of his subordinate Dale’s drinking habits, and it wasn’t always about the job.
The thing he hated most was when the bearded drunk would rope him into his bar nights; for when Garroth gets drunk, he gets bold, and some of the parts of himself he wishes to keep hidden make great effort to rise to the surface. If it were as simple as just saying no he’d never end up in situations like this, but on this particular night the older guard had nothing to do with his lack of sobriety. His friend Azura was visiting and she had insisted they both take a night off, since both of them were prone to overworking themselves.
The following morning, Garroth regretted how much he’d had to drink the night before… but he could never regret what it led to.

Garroth shows up drunk at Laurance's door, leading them both to discover their feelings for each other are mutual -

You know how Laurance in MCD constantly brought up in Season 2 on how he would duel Garroth for Aphmau's love? Let's also not forget the whole speech they had during episode 100 in season 1 where they were literally giving soulmate energy.
So basically, they have a "duel".
