Hayden dropped onto the opposite end of the sectional with a beer in hand and snorted.
“Yeah, for like, the price of a small car. I am not paying that much for a concert.”“Why not?” Ilya drawled, turning his head toward Hayden. “You do not have money for resale?”
Hayden didn’t even look at him. “I have money. I just also have sense.”
“Ah.” Ilya nodded thoughtfully. “So Montreal paid you so little you must budget carefully. Makes sense. Fifteenth best player on team, yes?”
“Hey,” Shane said. “Maybe don’t start a fist fight in our living room.”
Ilya looked up at him, entirely unrepentant.
“I am helping,” he said. “He says he cannot afford tickets. I am investigating.”
Hayden scoffed. “You wanna help? You buy them, then.”
“Okay.” Ilya reached for his phone. “Done."

In room 1410, Ilya Rozanov is ready to walk out the door after successfully getting his 19 year old hockey rival into bed. Covers the first two years of their rookie seasons (which is mostly skipped over in the show/books). Canon divergent from the first hookup seen in HR s01ep01. Most things are from the show but the timeline is a mix of both; Hunter and Marleau are aged up per the show instead of as young as they are in the books. (Also, Shane and Ilya don't wait *two years*, they stick to the book timeline. IYKYK.)

“Dumped tonight,” the bartender replied, not even looking up from the glass he was polishing.“Ah. Shame. He is very pretty.”
“Ilya, behave. And don’t talk so loud, he can hear you.”
“I hope he does,” the voice countered.
Shane could smell his strong cologne, something like wood, spices and maybe something fresher. Objectively–and achingly great scent. His voice was playful, Shane could hear an accent. He stubbornly kept his eyes glued to the TV. If he didn't acknowledge the stranger, maybe he’d remain invisible.
