A love letter to all of the Route One Pokémon which you caught.
Maybe you only caught them to pad out your team for the first few gyms, only to box them later. Maybe they were never your favourites, just stopgaps, warm bodies to build out the team whilst you searched for your proper partners.
Maybe you put them on the team, used them for a little while. Maybe they were your favourites and you gave them nicknames and treats and all the TMs you found.
Maybe, somewhere along the line, you found something better. And you put them in the box, or you released them. Maybe you forgot all about them.
They didn’t forget. They never will.
