True to her mild nature, her voice did not betray any judgment. But Keqing had seen it already—her surprise, the crack in her otherwise perfect mask of professionalism.
“Thank you, Ganyu,” Keqing grit out. The smile on her face felt stiff. The concerned look Ganyu was giving her suggested that it was, indeed, stiff.
After Rex Lapis' passing, Keqing has been struggling to keep up with the amount of work that the Qixing have to compensate for in his wake. Ganyu's subtle derision doesn't help.

Still, she wasn’t immune to loneliness, and so she went out from time to time to be around others.
She couldn’t have imagined what she would get into when she met Byleth Eisner, a woman with a ridiculous coat studying to be a teacher of history. History, and the folklore of Nabatea, its goddess, and the wolves she loved most dearly.
