WELCOME, NEW GRINDELDORE FANS :) Know that my Gellert is still fucked up but he's not manipulative or cruel and he loves Albus very much. If you're looking for a softer version of teen Grindeldore, this is it. They are soulmates in this.
Feel free to jump right in, you can read this story as a stand-alone without being lost, as I summarized the CTB trilogy at the beginning. However, I'd recommend starting at the very beginning and reading Closer Than Brothers - Part I, where Albus is the new Head Boy and he meets Gellert, a new student at Hogwarts. CTB: Continued, where Albus is a professor, takes place one year after the start of Part I.

The Heritage Foundation apparently stole the plot of this fic for Project 2025 so this is me fighting back.
