Summary
Solaris, a mortal raised in a secluded temple, is abducted and thrust into the care of a pack of "Shadow Bloods": vampiric, fae-like immortals who reveal that he was never truly human. He discovers he's an Obsequiate, a mortal being engineered to act as sustenance, companion, and servant to these vampiric creatures.
Within the manor, each member of the pod relates to him differently: cruelty, fascination, obsession, and distorted affection pull him in opposing directions. As Solaris struggles to endure captivity, cracks begin to form in the household’s hierarchy.
