Summary
Luke wakes up in the studio loft, bleary and disoriented, curled up on his side against the bean bag, and as he swallows and rubs his eyes, he feels himself snuggle down further into his clothes, into his own body.
It’s a nice feeling. Fuzzy. Floaty and heavy at the same time. It makes him want to hum, just for the feeling the sound makes in his mouth, or to pluck his guitar strings not to play a song, but just to hear the notes ring out, to watch the string vibrate til it stops.

Or, stress is starting to get to Luke. The boys are there for him when he feels small.

By the time Luke makes it back to the studio, he’s so filled with self-loathing that he thinks he might crack under its weight. The antipathy has taken on a physical sensation, almost, burrowing under his skin and coursing through his body in a mixture of burning pain and cold, icy lead. There’s too much inside of him, begging to burst out, tear him down into little pieces so he can sift through and find the fragments of goodness he hopes exist. If they do, they’re miniscule, drowned out by all the bad bad bad.
God, he wants to be torn open. He wants to fight and he wants to lose that fight and he wants to be purified, have everything callous and mean and selfish burned out of him. He wants to be made new, but he wants to hurt first.
Fuck knows he deserves it.
Luke's having a bad time and wants nothing more than to share it with his friends.

“Noodles are still in the cabinet,” Alex reminds him, shaking his head in barely concealed amusement. “Listen, I gotta go pick Bobby up from work. Fucking eat something, yeah?”
