“Then say it. Say it, Will!”
Will hesitates. “Say what?”
A beat. Then—
“Tell me that I’m wrong. Tell—”
He gulps. Will’s eyes dilate in shock.
“Tell me what’s going on with you, Will. For fuck’s sake, just talk to me!” Mike exclaims.
A stray sunbeam crawls up Mike’s cheek. At first, Will believes it to be another hallucination: that odd glassy sheen around his best friend’s waterline.
But when he concentrates, he notes that it isn’t a trick of the light at all. Rather, wetness brims in Mike’s eyelids, staining his eyes red.
Oh. Oh no.
OR
It's January, and Will Byers doesn't know how to act around his best friend anymore. But he has to hold strong. He has to keep his feelings to himself. If he doesn't, he'll lose everything.

Whatever happens next... no matter what...
Will felt his soul slowly leaving his body.
Time seemed suspended, as if they were trapped in a parallel reality.
Then Will started to cry. A terrible cry, sobbing and heaving. The tears streamed down like a waterfall and he didn’t even try to stop them, he just lay there, in the arms of the man he loved and who, apparently, was preparing him for the inevitable end.
will thinks mike is preparing to leave him. mike is preparing to ask him to marry him. these turn out to be very different things, as you can imagine

Of course, she had powers.
Cool.
That was… definitely something.
But that was all Mike ever talked about.
Even so, that seemed enough for her to become a recurring topic of conversation over and over and over again. Will noticed the way Mike’s hand would tremble, just slightly, every time he mentioned her. Will would avert his eyes before it could mean anything. Before he could make it mean anything.
Before it had a name.
Or: the events of Stranger Things through Will Byers’ eyes, exploring his trauma and complicated feelings towards Mike and Eleven.
